What are the exact software requirements that are needed to be able to have internet radio?

Basically you need to use an encoder to convert your signal and send it to the server. Heres some explanation to the process :

Internet Radio Software

Essentially most of the software is free and doesn't require a particularly fast computer.

Simplecast is an encoder. You can use any encoder you like that supports shoutcast (or icecast if you choose that server).
